The Jackson Family's Website - Mike-L

Karen loved rainbows!

On October 15, 1999, the Mike-L Listserv digest went out for its final issue, #152.  The list no longer exists and is unavailable for use to subscribers.

List Owners/Administrators researching listserv management are welcome make use of the former Mike-L's Bylaws and subscription form pages for their own listservs.  List Owners/Administrators should be aware that they need to use extensive editing to make these two pages acceptable for use with their own listservs.  They should pay special attention to making sure that the Bylaws reflect the current legal requirements for their organization.  Use of the WarpSite graphic or any HTML or any other programing code referencing WarpSite is strictly prohibited.  Other than that, it would be nice if they gave a bit of recognition to me for the original work. <smile>

Acknowledgments...

A large heartfelt "thank you" to Nick & Denise Ullman.  The Ullman's gave us our start with listservs, and were incredibly supportive during the first year of our growth.  Couldn't have so far in such a short time without you two, thanks!

Many thanks also to James for his help in transferring the lists to their new server, and for the magnificent support that he provided during the Mike-L's sojourn on the KM.Net servers.  Much, much appreciated, James! :o)

These two posts were my last to the Mike-L, and the last posts to post to the list. God bless all of our subscribers, and may you all find support on one of the other mito-related listservs.

Thank you, Susan. :o)

Hmmm... thought about med school.  Guess that it's not really necessary now.  I'm an educational rep for one of the model rocket companies, goes with my job, so I'm having to relearn and set to memory all of the math/science/literature subject matter that goes along with the hobby.  I do model rocketry seminars for the teachers in the local schools, and do demos for the classes.

Then again, I'm also our store's Gym Leader for our Pokémon League.  My son's image at school as risen dramatically since his classmates have seen me in my Gym Leader t-shirt and have discovered that our store is managing to keep the trading cards in stock longer than any other retailer in the area.  The job has perks for both of us. <smile>

I think that you (and the others who have been so kind in their private mail to me) are right, and as much as it goads me to have to agree with those few who opposed the MON and the Mike-L, it is time for me to lay it down and to leave the mito community.

The temptation is strong to part with a few words about those who caused so much hurt for the mito community.  Oh boy, do I ever want to! <grin> But I won't.

What I ^will^ do is let all of you on to a little Internet "secret".

Numbers count.

Whether it's the number of visits to a website, or the number of folk participating on a listserv, numbers count.  If you want to take the mito lists back for the majority of the folk using them, USE THEM!  If 100 subscribers post regularly to a list (like the [OK] list, 800+ subscribers), then the few who would want to control the lists find themselves on the outside.  No one will very much mind the occasional nasty post to the list because of the large volume of supportive ones, and new folk who are shy to post will post because it feels safe to do so.  With that many folk participating, it is very easy to put down the few who would try to be troublesome.

Take the mito community back for yourselves.  Don't let the wants of the few, outweigh the needs of the many.

Love and hugs...

& TTFN

Dear Mike-L Subscribers,

This is the last Mike-L digest that you will receive.  I'm closing the list down in a few minutes.

I hope that all of you find the support that the Mike-L tried to provide, on one of the other mito lists.

God bless all of you and be with you through all of your trials.
