Thank you for visiting the "fluff stuff" (background information) of the "Leo Ex Sphaera", the "Lions of the Sphere" (LES).

Originally, I started playing wargames through Games Workshop's "Warhammer 40,000" gaming system.  But I found following the almost constant rule changes over the years, and having to constantly purchse new books (merchandising at it's zenith), too much for my enjoyment of the game and a constant drain on my finances.

So, this year I sold off all of my Warhammer 40,000 rule books and codexes and switched over to the Hellion Universal Rules System (HURS) developed by John Bear Ross of Hellion Productions.  I actively promote this system at the gaming conventions that we attend, and all of our own CF&Son miniatures are compatible with HURS.

(Note: My son and I still play Games Workshop's 1:30 [54mm] scale game "Inquisitor"; a game system that differs a great deal in its game mechanics from Warhammer 40,000.  Please click here to view my Inquistor Squat conversion.  As long as the rules do not start changing with the weather...)

The table at the bottom of this page will take you to the stories that tell the history of the Lions of the Sphere.  The stories should be read from top to bottom to maintain the time progression.  The stories are all works in progress, so some will be very short and all will be incomplete unless otherwise noted.  Especially now that I am rewriting the stories to eliminiate all of the references to the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

I'm using the Bible as a guideline for the story content, and readers need to keep in mind that the Bible is not always "G-rated" when it comes to war and violence.  The content of these stories may not be appropriate for young readers.

In any case, criticism is welcome unless it's impolite.  (You'll notice a few underlined "blanks" in the stories.  They're just space holders until I find the right word/phrase that belongs in that sentence.)
